Lethal Xcess Beta Version additional Information

Like the final version of Lethal Xcess, the beta contained a lot of in game "cheat" keys that could be pressed during the game to achieve various effects. Some of these keys might result in a crashing or freezing machine, however keep in mind that this was only a preview which was made to show the capabilities of the engine.

The Skulll Bonus Icon of the Lethal Xcess Beta is a Smartbomb

Background Information

The Lethal Xcess beta version is a relict from an early stage of development. At this time lots of features weren't implemented and others were just meant to be a proof of concept. For example, loading of level logics and sprite-sets wasn't possible at that time, we had to assemble the whole game for each level, however the loading of tile-sets was already done, this is why you get the same enemies with another background level after finishing the demo of Lethal Xcess.

This is also the source for a small bug. If you keep firing player missiles at the end of the demo level the sprite-slots for the shots which are still on screen won't be deactivated for the next level and you will have to deal with only a few remaining free slots. This can make playing further impossible.

However since the level map ends way before the sprite initialization it will crash somewhere close to the end anyway, its the best to press ESC and leave before.
